Description
It looks like a piece of Obsidian from our nearby lava flows, but it’s Gnawt-a-Rock™! This durable throw toy is inspired by natural volcanic glass formed by rapidly cooling lava from Pacific Northwest volcanoes. Unlike Obsidian, the Gnawt-a-Rock is made with natural latex rubber, with a faceted, gum-massaging surface. Its irregular shape creates an erratic bounce, and it has a treat-dispensing design for interactive play and reward. Part of the Pacific Gnaw-west toy collection inspired by Ruffwear’s home of Bend, Oregon, and its natural surroundings.

And we have fun. We go skiing together – and rafting, and camping, and hiking. We gather around the breakfast table, toasting coffee and OJ, and meet for beers after work. We take our dogs to the dog park, and when we need a laugh, we let them run off leash in the office. We’re passionate, and we love what we do. Sometimes we cry tears of joy or frustration together – we might be a little sensitive, but hey, we’re dog people.
Philosophy
Since 1994, Ruffwear has been dedicated to building gear for outdoor athletes and their human companions. We believe that our products should perform and that performance should be measured by the ability to enhance our outdoor adventures with our dogs.
